Ryanair has marked its second successful summer in Tirana with an impressive milestone operating over 320 weekly flights to 23 destinations. As part of its continued growth in the Albanian market, the low-cost carrier also unveiled two exciting new routes, connecting Tirana with Lamezia and Warsaw-Chopin. The airline’s ambitious plans extend further with projections to carry 3 million passengers annually, while directly supporting approximately 2,200 local jobs.

The carrier stated “The ongoing expansion of Tirana Airport, which will significantly increase capacity, represents a major opportunity for Albania to continue its impressive growth in air traffic and tourism, including the potential to attract a Ryanair base” adding “Tirana International Airport continues to remain a competitive destination in terms of operating fees, attracting more traffic, more tourism and more jobs.”

Ryanair’s Chief Commercial Officer, Jason McGuinness , said “As the lowest-cost airline in Albania, Ryanair is pleased to present its summer 2025 calendar in Tirana. With 23 destinations, including 2 new ones to Lamezia and Warsaw – Chopin, this program will offer the opportunity to fly 3 million passengers, while supporting over 2,200 jobs in Albania. Ryanair is evaluating the possibility of further expansion in Tirana, including the establishment of a base at TIA. This will enable a more extensive network, with low fares for Albanian citizens to visit friends and family abroad.”

Tirana International Airport Operational Director, Piervittorio Farabbi , said “Since the start of their operations in November ’23, Ryanair has enabled the flights of around 3 million passengers to and from Albania, making a major contribution to our sustainable growth over the last 2 years. Ryanair has also influenced our operating approach, helping the team to implement more productive and coordinated procedures. Their presence will bring even more positive results in the years to come, especially with their extensive network increasing the number of direct destinations from TIA.”
