Lativan carrier AirBaltic suspended its three times weekly service from Riga to Dublin, effective from 30 August. The last service was operated by YL-AAZ Airbus A220-300 msn 55114. BTI661 departed Riga 0746 arriving Dublin 0838. BTI662 departed Dublin 0946 arriving Riga 1419 local.
The carrier announced a revised business plan on 19 August, focused on strengthening its balance sheet, reducing its Airbus A220-300 fleet and improving profitability, while maintaining Riga as its primary hub.
The Latvian carrier expects to operate approximately 36 A220-300s by the end of 2026, down from 54 currently, before gradually increasing the fleet to around 40 aircraft by 2031. AirBaltic served 67 destinations from Riga in its summer 2026 program and summer 2027 comprises 57 destinations marking a 15% network reduction.
