Irish budget carrier announced it is returning to Klagenfurt (Austria) for Winter 2022/23 commencing 30th October launching new routes to Brussels Charleroi (2 weekly) , Dublin (2 weekly), London Stansted (2 weekly) and Manchester (weekly).
Ryanair expects strong demand and a large number of ski tourists from England and Ireland who spend their winter holidays in the Carinthian ski areas. Klagenfurt will be the carrier’s second Austrian destination to be served from Dublin. In Winter 2018/19 its sister carrier Laudamotion (Lauda Europe) operated Dublin to Innsbruck route.
Klagenfurt Airport Managing Director Maximilian Wildt stated “We are pleased to have gained a very good and fast-growing partner in Ryanair. This is an essential building block in the further successful development of the airport. After consistent preparatory work, this is the visible trend reversal in passenger numbers for Klagenfurt Airport.”
Ryanair DACH Spokesman and Laudamotion CEO Andreas Gruber stated “As Austria’s fastest growing airline, Ryanair is delighted to resume operations from Klagenfurt Airport this winter, with four exclusive routes from Brussels, Dublin, London and Manchester will help to position Klagenfurt and the region of Carinthia as one of the top ski destinations in Europe and at the same time offer more travel options from Klagenfurt to exciting European capitals”.
