Ryanair announced a new connection between Belfast International and Kaunas operating twice weekly operating from 26 October 2024 to 26 October 2025. According Ryanair’s online booking engine the route is operated on Wednesdays by Kaunas based Buzz and Sundays by Belfast Int based Ryanair UK 189 seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Kaunas is the second-largest city in Lithuania after Vilnius, the fourth largest city in the Baltic States and an important centre of Lithuanian economic, academic, and cultural life. Ryanair has made a significant investment in Kaunas basing 3 Boeing 737-800 aircraft operating 28 routes. The carrier recently opened its 2nd hangar at Kaunas Aircraft Maintenance Service (KAMS) in a €20 million investment creating 200 new jobs , with the capacity to maintain 4 Boeing 737s.
