A62-001 Boeing 737-8 BBJ MAX (c/n 67959) Royal Australian Air Force callsign “Aussie 315” operated by No. 34 VIP transport squadron visited Dublin Airport on July 25, 2026, operating a VIP transport flight carrying the Governor-General of Australia arriving from Glasgow departing 28 July to Riga, Latvia.
The Governor-General Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC and Mr Beckett visited Dublin for a State Visit to Ireland marking 80 years of formal diplomatic cooperation and generations of family ties between Australia and Ireland.
The Australia Air Force operates a fleet of two 737-8 Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) aircraft. They are part of the Special Purpose Aircraft fleet, operated by No. 34 Squadron from Defence Establishment Fairbairn in the Australian Capital Territory.
The BBJs provide secure and efficient transport for the Governor-General, Parliamentarians, and international dignitaries. The aircraft is fitted with facilities to allow the continuation of government business during transport. The BBJ has a crew of up to six (pilot, co-pilot, and up to four crew attendants) and is capable of carrying up to 32 passengers. The BBJ complements the smaller Dassault Falcon 7X.
