Ethiopian Airlines has added two Boeing 737-8 aircraft to its fleet, further advancing the flag carrier’s fleet modernization and capacity expansion strategy. Ethiopian Airlines took delivery of ET-BCT (Boeing 737-8, c/n 43583) following a delivery flight from Boeing Field to Dublin and onward to Addis Ababa on 19–20 September 2026.

A second aircraft, ET-BCU (Boeing 737-8, c/n 62953), was delivered on the Boeing Field–Dublin–Addis Ababa routing on 15–17 September 2026. The two deliveries add to Ethiopian’s growing 737 MAX fleet as the airline continues to increase capacity across its network while transitioning toward a more fuel-efficient next-generation fleet.

Ethiopian has a substantial forward orderbook spanning both Airbus and Boeing and. The carrier currently has outstanding orders for 17 Airbus A350-900s, 18 Boeing 777s, 26 Boeing 787-9s and 42 Boeing 737 MAX 8s.
