Emirates SkyCargo Transports 4.5 Million Kg of Freight on Dublin Route - IrishAero - Irish Aviation Research Institute

Between January and September 2024, Emirates SkyCargo saw substantial growth in freight traffic on the Dubai International to Dublin route, transporting 4.5 million kilograms of cargo, operated by Emirates Boeing 777-300(ER) twice daily, each of which can carry 360 passengers and 25 tonnes of cargo.

Medical devices experienced significant demand, particularly for destinations such as Shanghai and Mumbai. Meanwhile, the perishable goods sector, including seafood and foodstuffs, saw strong growth, driven by rising demand from markets in Dubai, Guangzhou, and Shanghai.

Pharmaceuticals, especially temperature-sensitive products, remained key exports, with strong demand to cities like Osaka, Singapore, and major Chinese hubs such as Beijing and Shanghai. These categories are becoming increasingly vital for the airline’s global operations.

Globally, Emirates SkyCargo reported a 16% rise in cargo volume during the first half of 2024, handling 1.2 million tonnes of freight. Yields also saw an 11% increase, bolstered by the surge in eCommerce and high-value goods, including perishables.
