Emirates has extended the deployment of its latest three-class Airbus A350-900 on the Dubai International Airport (DXB)–Dublin route, with the aircraft now scheduled to operate the evening EK163/164 service until 30 September 2026. The airline’s A350 configured with 312 seats features 32 Business Class seats, 21 Premium Economy seats and 259 Economy Class seats.
The deployment forms part of Emirates’ wider A350 fleet expansion, which has now reached 27 aircraft delivered from an order for 73 Airbus A350-900s scheduled for delivery through to 2031. The aircraft are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB84 engines.
To further passenger experience Emirates has unveiled what it describes as a world-first innovation for Economy Class with the introduction of the new U-Dream Headrest. Initially installed on three Airbus A350-900 aircraft, the leather-padded headrest features adjustable side wings that fold inwards to support the head and neck, helping passengers maintain a comfortable sleeping position during flight.
The headrest can also be adjusted vertically and tilted to accommodate passengers of different heights and body types, providing a more personalised level of comfort. Emirates plans to introduce the U-Dream Headrest across all Airbus A350 aircraft in its fleet, as well as on the majority of its Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s.
