Delta Air Lines operated a one-time Airbus A330-900neo service between Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Dublin Airport (DUB) on 1 August, substituted for Delta’s usual three-class, 223-seat A330-200.
The 281-seat A330-900neo service was operated by aircraft N419DX (ms 2014) on flight DAL292 arriving Dublin at 09:47 local time before departing as DAL293 at 12:01 local. Delta has previously deployed the A330-900neo on Dublin services from Atlanta, Boston and Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP).
Delta operates 39 Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, with a total future commitment to reach 55 total A330neos following a January 2026 Airbus Order for 16 additional units scheduled for delivery beginning in 2029.
The A330Neo is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, and features a new wing with increased span and A350 XWB-inspired Sharklets. The A330neo provides an unprecedented level of efficiency , with 25% lower fuel burn per seat than previous generation competitors and the lowest seat-mile cost in its category. The A330neo is able to operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus is targeting to have its aircraft up to 100% SAF capable by 2030.
