International Airlines Group (IAG) carrier Aer Lingus has taken delivery of its fourth Airbus A321XLR, continuing the Irish flag carrier’s North American Dublin hub expansion strategy.

The aircraft, registered EI-XLU (Airbus A321-253NY-XLR, MSN 12142), is named “St Sourney / Sárnait” and was ferried from Airbus’ Hamburg-Finkenwerder facility to Dublin Airport (DUB) on 12 September 2025, operating under callsign EIN2395. It touched down in Dublin at 20:45 local time.

According to Flightradar24 data, EI-XLU entered revenue service on 19 September, operating the Dublin–Paris CDG rotation (EI524/5), followed by a sector to Munich (EIN356/7).

The A321XLR (Extra Long Range) is a key enabler of Aer Lingus’ North American growth plan, offering extended range capability up to 4,700nm, while maintaining narrowbody economics. Configured in a two-class layout with 16 full-flat Business Class seats and 168 Economy Class seats, the A321XLR supports Aer Lingus’ goal of high aircraft utilisation and unit cost optimisation.

The consistent product offering, including the AerSpace short-haul premium seating, ensures a seamless passenger experience across both its European and North American networks.

Aviation Flights website reports that two A321XLRs are currently in production for Aer Lingus. These include:

EI-XLW (MSN 12463), test registration D-AVYM

EI-XLX (MSN 12549), test registration D-AZAG
