Aer Lingus has added its eighth Airbus A320neo to its fleet, further enhancing its short-haul network sustainability initiatives. The aircraft, registered EI-NSH and named McCuilinn, arrived in Dublin from Toulouse on 31 July, using callsign EIN2535 touching down 2027 local time.
The new addition, an A320-251N (msn 12663), officially entered commercial service on 7 August, operating flight EIN494/5 between Dublin and Faro, Portugal. The 186 seat A320neo will primarily serve key short-haul routes, including popular destinations like London Heathrow and various European cities.
Aer Lingus is continuing to modernize its fleet with next-generation Airbus aircraft. The carrier currently operates 19 aircraft from the A320neo family, which makes up 35% of its 59-strong fleet. EI-NSH is the second A320neo delivery this year. EI-NSG Airbus A320-251N (msn 12462) named “St Dervilla” was delivered on 10 March. This includes eight A320neos, eight A321neo-LRs, and three A321neo-XLRs,
A further three A321neo-XLRs registered EI-XLU (msn 12412), EI-XLW (msn 12463), EI-XLX (msn 12549) are due for delivery by the end of the year.
