Delta Air Lines has introduced its state-of-the-art Airbus A330-900neo on the seasonal route operating six times weekly, between Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) and Dublin (DUB).The aircraft, which seats 281 passengers, will operate temporarily on the MSP–Dublin route, effective from 20 April to 9 May. The first A330neo service was operated by N420DX msn 1920.
The A330neo is a true new-generation aircraft, building on the features of the popular A330 features and leveraging technology developed for the A350 XWB technology, with a range of up to 7,200 nautical miles.
Powered by the latest Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, and featuring a new wing with increased span and A350 XWB-inspired Sharklets, the A330neo provides an unprecedented level of efficiency , with 25% lower fuel burn per seat than previous generation competitors and the lowest seat-mile cost in its category.
Equipped with the Airbus Airspace cabin, the A330neo offers a unique passenger experience with more personal space and the latest generation in-flight entertainment system and connectivity.
Delta was the launch customer for the A330-900, ordering 25 in November 2014. The A330-900neo is among the youngest aircraft types in Delta’s widebody fleet. According to data from Planespotters.net, the airline currently operates 33 A330-900neo aircraft with an average age of just 2.9 years, and has six additional units on order.
