Air Canada has officially launched its new Indian route, connecting Calgary to Delhi with a stopover at London Heathrow. The service, which began on October 27, 2024, runs daily through to March 28, 2025, offering Irish travellers a new one-stop option for both business and leisure trips to India, with Aer Lingus interline at Heathrow.

The Calgary-Delhi flight, which will be operated by a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9, features a three-class cabin configuration, including Economy, Premium Economy, and Signature Class.

The airline was granted fifth freedom traffic rights from the UK to India, allowing it to operate this route as Air Canada’s longest fifth freedom operation. This means the airline can now carry passengers between the UK and India as well, offering even more options for travellers on this route.

In 2022, Air Canada previously operated a Dublin technical stop on its Canada-Delhi flights.
