United Airlines held a fun promotion in Stephens Green Shopping Center in Mid-November to promote their new Dublin to Washington Dulles service launched on 8th June last , this week a travel trade press delegation traveled to Washington DC on a familiarization trip lead by Yvonne Muldoon United Airlines Sales Manager Ireland & Northern Ireland to celebrate the new direct flight from Dublin to Washington.  

The carrier noted that 65% of the traffic is using the Washington Dulles hub is connecting to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando and SFO. The Dublin Airport Airport said stated prior to United Airlines launching the route 35,000 passengers between Dublin and  Washington DC ,  the direct route will significantly grow that market.

The winter 2012/3 schedule Washington Dulles operates fives weekly up to 7th January 2013 reducing to four times weekly till 17th March , thereafter increasing to five times weekly till 21st May.

United Airlines operates daily flights from Belfast International, Dublin and Shannon to Newark and Dublin to Washington Dulles five times weekly using a 175-seater Boeing 757-200 aircraft with 16 BusinessFirst class seats and 159 seats in Economy. United Airlines is to launch a new route from Shannon to Chicago five times weekly from 6th June 2013.
