Tarom Airlines is reinstating its Bucharest Otopeni International to Dublin route after 12 years from 1st May operating three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using Boeing 737-700s with a capacity of 116 passenger to cater for Romanian community in Ireland and onward connections to Athens, Beirut, Belgrade, Cairo, Larnaca, Tel Aviv, & Sofia. Tarom is a member of SkyTeam Alliance.
ROT397 departs Bucharest at 2130 and arrives in Dublin at 2330 and ROT396 departs Dublin at 0020 arrives in Bucharest at 0605.
Tarom Airlines CEO Christian Heinzmann said “The summer brings plenty of news for our passengers. First we introduced new flights from Iasi to Bologna, Turin and London enjoyed successful flights since bookings on these routes are growing. Ireland is a destination Romanian appreciated and believe that the introduction of flights to Dublin will be very well received by passengers “
The Roman state carrier has a long association with Ireland going back to 1986 when Ryanair leased BAC1-11s aircraft on various leases between November 1986 to October 1990, it previously operated a weekly service between Dublin and Bucharest from 12th December 1999 to 18th March 2001. In the mid 90s the airline fuel stopped in Shannon Airport on its Airbus A310 service to Chicago.
