Irish budget carrier Ryanair is increasing it’s Dublin base fleet from 13 in winter 2013/14 season to 24 Boeing 737-800s in winter 2014/5 season, said Ryanair’s Director of Operations Adrian Dunne at Royal Aeronautical Society Ireland Branch lecture last night in Dublin.
Adrian added “Somebody is going to feel the pressure”.
The airline has revealed a notable expansion of its network from Ireland following last year’s government budget decision to abolish its unpopular €3 travel tax from April 2014.
Ryanair’s network growth at Dublin clearly illustrates how Ryanair is adapting its business model with launch of Business Plus , and building frequencies across its network to better serve the business market while also attracting stronger leisure flows.
This winter season the carrier is adding three new routes from Dublin to Brussels-Zaventem and Glasgow International operating three daily times and a new daily service to Cologne/Bonn.
Services on existing routes to Bucharest, Lisbon, Marrakech, Nice & Prague are extended on year-round basis.
It also plans to increase the frequency on a number of its existing Dublin routes, including Birmingham, Berlin, London Gatwick, Madrid, Milan Bergamo, Rome Ciampino and Warsaw Modlin.
