Ryanair celebrated carrying 30 million passengers through Prestwick in its 30 years of operations. Ryanair was the first low-cost airline to operate at Prestwick, starting with its first Boeing 737-200Adv flight from Dublin Airport back in 1994.

Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Jade Kirwan said “We are delighted to celebrate 30 years and 30 million Ryanair passengers at Prestwick Airport. This significant milestone signifies Ryanair’s continued commitment, growth and investment at Prestwick, where Ryanair has operated since 1994.”

The carrier now operates 10 routes, connecting 3 countries across Europe with two based Boeing 737-800 aircraft, operating over 80 weekly flights, spanning 10 routes including Alicante, Barcelona, Faro, Murcia, Pisa and Tenerife South.

Ryanair’s Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance Ltd (PAML) operates a 6-bay hangar employing 500 staff, maintaining the Ryanair fleet. The Ryanair Training Centre is located at Prestwick, training the next generation of aircraft mechanics and aircraft sheet metal workers with over 400 new trainees coming through its program each year.
