Irish ultra low cost carrier Ryanair passenger traffic increased by 400,000 passengers up 4% to 9.15 million passengers in July. In the rolling 12 months to the end of July it carried 83 million passengers.
It’s Load factor is a key performance statistic that airlines use to compare the number of seats they sold to the number of seats they have available, increased by 3 points to 91%.
The carrier begins an exciting growth phase from next month as it begins to taking delivery of the first of 180 Boeing 737-800s on order. More significantly it’s new business product will be launched, with features such as fast-track security at selected airports, flexible tickets and reserved seating.
“We’re talking to primary airports today that we don’t already fly to in Italy, Spain, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark … and there’s a few others,” Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary said at a press conference in March.
