ITA Airways has taken delivery of three Irish-registered Airbus A220-300 aircraft, all routed directly from Airbus’ Montréal-Mirabel International Airport to Rome Fiumicino, further advancing the carrier’s fleet renewal.

Two of the aircraft EI-TEB (c/n 55407) and EI-TEC (c/n 55413) , were delivered on 13 December 2025, while the third, EI-TED (c/n 55419), was delivered from Montréal on 5 January 2026.

Configured in a two-class, 149-seat layout, the A220-300 is optimised for domestic and short- to medium-haul European operations. The type offers a range of up to 3,450nm (6,390km) and delivers approximately a 25% reduction in fuel burn and CO₂ emissions per seat compared with previous-generation short-haul aircraft.

The latest deliveries mark another milestone in ITA Airways’ Sustainability Plan, under which the airline aims to operate a fleet comprising 90% new-generation aircraft by the end of 2027.
