Ireland West Airport via its LinkedIn page 30 September welcomed the German Ambassador to Ireland, Mr David Gill to the airport for a briefing with Managing Director, Joe Gilmore.
During the meeting the strategic importance of direct access from Cologne with Ryanair was highlighted, and he was briefed on our ongoing airline discussions around developing new connections from Germany to the West of Ireland.
Tourism Ireland researched showed that in 2025 the West and North West of Ireland were the second most visited regions in Ireland amongst German Holidaymakers, highlighting the significant demand for increased German access to the region.
