Icelandair Cargo operated two dedicated services from Reykjavik (Keflavik) to Dublin on 11-13 December, using a Boeing 767-319(ER)(BCF) aircraft, flight numbers ICE5710/711. The flight was operated with the aircraft TF-ISP, named ‘Heimaey,’ which is part of Icelandair’s fleet of converted freighters.
The move comes as part of Icelandair Cargo’s strategy to meet the increased demand during the busy holiday season, in additional belly space on Icelandair’s passenger flights. The Boeing 767-300BCF used for the operation is known for its versatile cargo configuration. It can be configured with up to 24 ULDs (unit load devices) in a side-by-side PAG/P1P layout on the main deck, as well as 11 ULDs in the lower deck. The aircraft is capable of carrying up to 49 tons of cargo, depending on the route and the type of cargo being transported.
This aircraft, which was painted in Icelandair’s new livery at Shannon Airport in April 2023, is one of two Boeing 767-300ER freighters acquired by Icelandair Cargo. In 2021, Titan Aircraft Investments— a joint venture between Titan Aviation Holdings and Bain Capital Credit— announced the purchase of these two freighters, which were subsequently converted to cargo configurations and placed on long-term leases with Icelandair.
