The first Irish debut of the Gulfstream G650 took place today at Dublin Airport by N524EA Gulfstream G650 arriving 1025 and departing 1525 this aircraft was delivered on 31st December 2012.
National Business Aviation Association’s CEO Ed Bolen said “Many companies are using large-cabin, long-range business jets to provide nonstop access to overseas markets, especially Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. These airplanes can deliver business people to long-distance destinations within hours, greatly increasing the efficiency of travel and optimizing the work schedule ” (Business Traveller December 2012).
The Gulfstream G650 has a list price of $64.5 million, is the first Gulfstream with full digital fly-by-wire controls and the fastest civilian use aircraft with cruising speed near the speed of sound of Mach number 0.925 and has a range of 7,000 nautical mile (13,000 km) seating between 8 and 19 passengers, opening up city pairs such as Doha International to Teterboro Airport New Jersey, Helsinki to Ro de Janeiro.
The long-range business jet market is competitive with a number of competing products available: Bombardier Aerospace Global 6000 and Global 7000 and 8000 in development, Cessna 750, Citation X, Dassault Falcon 7X and 2000LS and Gulfstream G5, G550 and G650.
