ITA Airways has expanded its fleet with the arrival of its twelfth Airbus A220-300. The aircraft, registered EI-HHT (msn 55317), the aircraft routed directly from Montréal-Mirabel to Rome Fiumicino on 12 December 2024.
The A220-300 enhances the airline’s efficiency, offering a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per passenger compared to its predecessor.
Powered by Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower PW1500G engines, the aircraft is perfectly suited for the domestic and European markets, with a range of up to 3,450 nautical miles (6,390 km).
The A220 is a clean sheet design, purpose-built for the 100 to 150 seat market segments, will enable ITA Airways to become Europe’s greenest carrier with 80 percent of new generation aircraft in the fleet by 2026.
