The Irish Aviation Authority announced commercial terminal flights at Dublin Airport in April were up by 1.2% when compared to the same month last year, which reflects a continuing upward trend. On a cumulative basis, commercial terminal traffic for Shannon, Dublin and Cork airports for January to April 2013 was up by 0.3%, compared to the same period in 2012.
Total flights in Irish airspace in April have decreased marginally by -1.1%, when compared to April 2012.
There was a decrease of -1.6% in Ireland’s en-route traffic movements (flights that pass through Irish airspace but do not land) during April 2013, in comparison to April 2012. Similarly, North Atlantic Communications flights (Europe /North America) saw a decrease of -1.6% in April 2013, when compared to April 2012.
The April 2013 figures for the three State airports, when compared to the same month in the previous year are:
Cork Airport: -1.1% with an average of 59 commercial daily movements.
Dublin Airport: + 1.2% , with an average of 446 commercial daily movements.
Shannon Airport: -2.7%, with an average of 46 commercial daily movements.
