Cork Airport Celebrates New Aer Lingus Regional Service to Glasgow - IrishAero - Irish Aviation Research Institute

Cork Airport has celebrated the start of a new four-times weekly year-round service to Glasgow,  operated exclusively by Emerald Airlines on behalf of Aer Lingus Regional, flights will operate on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

The new route operated by an 72 seat ATR72-600 aircraft will cater to both business and leisure customers alike, providing a direct link between Leeside and Clydeside. In addition to the new Glasgow route, Aer Lingus Regional has increased capacity on its popular Cork – Bristol service by adding three extra flights per week.

Cork Airport Head of Aviation Business Development & Communications Tara Finn said “It is wonderful to celebrate the start of the new Cork – Glasgow service today. Glasgow is a very welcome addition to our UK Provincial network and complements our existing Edinburgh service. Glasgow has so much to offer – it’s rich history, vibrant arts and music scene, fantastic food, and great shopping experiences. It’s also great to see the addition of more services to Bristol, and I’d like to thank Emerald Airlines for their continued growth at Cork Airport.

Emerald Airlines Head of Commercial Ian Lough, said “We are delighted to see our new Cork-Glasgow route officially take off! Equally, the added capacity on our Cork to Bristol route reflects our continued commitment to meeting the needs of our passengers. These developments give our customers even more choices and show our dedication to providing greater convenience and travel options across our entire network.”

The service is operated by Belfast City based Emerald Airlines UK routing Belfast (BHD)-Glasgow (GLA)- Cork (ORK)-Glasgow (GLA)-Belfast (BHD). G-CMMT ATR72-600 msn 1109 operated first service on 27 October.
