Knock Airport- Runwayside Facebook reported the arrival of B-18302 Airbus A330-302 msn 0607 China Airlines in basic colour scheme on Monday 26 August at 0941 local time. As per Flightradar24 the aircraft routed 24-26 August Taipei (TPE)-Bangkok (BKK)-Vienna (VIE)-Knock (NOC) using callsign CAL077.
According to Planespotters.net website the airframe is 21.2 years old. The aircraft first flight 10 June 2004 and delivered to China Airlines 8 July 2004 in two class 313 seat configuration powered by GE CF6-80E1A4. The aircraft is listed as stored Knock as of 26 August 2025.
China Airlines announced an order at the Paris Air Show 2023 for 24 new Boeing 787-9 and Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners to be delivered between 2025 and 2038. The 787s in three cabin configuration featuring Premium Business, Premium Economy, and Economy , replacing the Airbus A330-300 fleet as part of the aircraft revitalization program and will greatly enhance its cost structure but will also contribute to China Airlines’ goal of achieving Net Zero by 2050.
