Aer Lingus is thriving on the Atlantic in June it carried 99,000 passengers in the long-haul segment up 12.5% and in the six months end 30th June passenger numbers rose 11% to 433,000 passengers with a load factor of 77.5% up 5% it’s yield was up 9% to €332.87 in a very challenging market conditions a testimony to the strength of it’s business model.
The airline has mutiple partnerships with Aer Lingus Regional, JetBlue Airways and United Airlines with new partner Eithad Airways to begin code-share and interline on routes to Boston and New York effective 15th September, and leverages traffic flows from it’s short-haul network announcing 6th of June new flight connections to Boston and New York JFK via Dublin from Berlin, Faro, Stockholm, Venice effective 28th October.
For the winter scheduled the carrier is operating Dublin-New York JFK double daily and Orlando three times weekly and Shannon to New York JFK four times weekly. The Dublin-Boston route will be reduced from 11 times weekly to a daily service in line with its ‘Demand-Lead’ Strategy.
The airline countinues to enhance it’s long-haul product switching to the JetBlue Airways Terminal in New York JFK in early 2013 enabling 40 minute flight-connections, the code-share agreement with United Airlines is being expanded to offer new city pairs, and begins to install Wi-Fi on it’s Airbus A330 fleet from end year and is to open a new business lounge in Boston.
