Aer Lingus operated its inaugural transatlantic A321XLR service from Shannon Airport on Tuesday 3 March 2026. The flight was operated by EI-XLT, an Airbus A321-253NY(XLR) (msn 12463). The aircraft operated to New York EIN111/0 and next day Boston EIN135/4 also operated to London Heathrow service  as EIN380/1 between transatlantic turnarounds. The deployment demonstrates the A321XLR’s flexibility across Aer Lingus route network.

On Saturday 17 January EI-XLW, an Airbus A321-253NY(XLR) (msn 12463), operated the Inaugural A321XLR service to Shannon Airport flying a W-pattern rotation Dublin-London Heathrow-Shannon-London Heathrow-Dublin in lieu of an Airbus A320neo.

Aer Lingus has configured its A321XLR fleet with 184 seats in a two-class layout, comprising 16 full-flat Business Class seats and 168 Economy Class seats. The cabin features Airbus’ latest Airspace enhancements, including larger overhead bins offering up to 60% more capacity for cabin baggage, wider seats, updated in-flight entertainment systems and improved acoustic engineering to reduce cabin noise.
