Aer Lingus operated two one-off services on its Dublin–Madrid route using Airbus A321LR, Airbus A330-200 aircraft than the standard narrowbody typically assigned to the sector, according to data from Flightradar24.
On 28 March 2025, the airline operated flight EIN594/5 with a two-class Airbus A321-253NX(LR), registered EI-LRG (msn 10291). The 184-seat long-range narrowbody replaced the usual 174-seat Airbus A320-200 on the approximately 2.5-hour hop to the Spanish capital.
A week later, on 4 April 2025, Aer Lingus upgauged flight EIN592/3 even further, deploying a two-class Airbus A330-202, registered EI-GEY (msn 0441). The widebody aircraft, typically used on transatlantic services, offers 271 seats and marks a rare appearance of the type on a short-haul intra-European route.
