On December 7, ITA Airways transferred its Airbus A220-100, MSN 50076, from the Italian registry (I-ADVC) to the Irish registry as EI-MVC at Rome Fiumicino Airport. The A220-100, the smallest aircraft in ITA’s fleet in 125 seat configuration, with 10 in operation, used for short- and medium-haul routes, including London City Airport.

Featuring advanced materials for greater fuel efficiency, the A220-100 reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 25%, while cutting NOx emissions by up to 50% compared to older models. ITA Airways aims to have 90% of its fleet made up of new-generation aircraft by 2027, positioning itself to operate Europe’s youngest fleet.
