On November 29-30, 2024, Qatar Airways Cargo’s Boeing 777-FDZ (A7-BFL msn 62086) embarked on a special charter flight, transporting racehorses between Brussels, Shannon, Doha, and Hong Kong. Operating under flight number ‘QTR8248/8244’,

Qatar Airways Cargo, the air freight arm of Qatar Airways, operates from its base at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. With a fleet of 28 Boeing 777 Freighters and belly-hold space in passenger aircraft, the carrier serves a global network of over 60 freighter destinations and more than 170 passenger destinations.

The airline continues to expand its freighter capabilities, with a firm order for 34 Boeing 777-8 Freighters, set to be the largest, most capable, and most efficient twin-engine widebody freighters in the air cargo industry.

The new Boeing 777-8 Freighters, which feature state-of-the-art technology, advanced airframes, and engines, are expected to further elevate Qatar Cargo’s position as a leader in global air freight services. With an option for 16 additional units, Qatar Airways Cargo is poised to meet increasing demand for long-range, high-capacity freight solutions in the coming years.
