EI-FIJ Boeing 737-8AS Ryanair 

Irish budget carrier Ryanair, has announced it’s new Berlin Schönefeld to Cologne route will start on 3rd September, due to the large demand , two months earlier than planned with a frequency of five times daily using 189 seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The Berlin to Cologne route is extremely lucrative route currently served by Air Berlin and Lufthansa and Germanwings plans to start route on 3rd October. Speaking to German Aviation website airliners.de Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs said “Air Berlin will soon reduce frequencies”.

The budget carrier uses “Triangulation” to exploit opportunities for continued growth by connecting airports within its existing route network. To this effect it announced further expansion at it’s Berlin Schönefeld base with the announcement of a new connection to Tenerife South, operating three times weekly.

In Hamburg the carrier announced two new connections to Alicante and Malaga both operating three times weekly, from 26th October and expects to carry 220, 000 passengers per annum. From Hamburg it’s serving Portuguese leisure market with two routes to Lisbon and Porto.
