Emirates’ introduction of Premium Economy on its Dublin-Dubai route in 2025 marked a milestone for the airline in Ireland, making it the only carrier operating from the country to offer a four-class service onboard its Boeing 777-300(ER) aircraft.
The launch formed part of Emirates’ wider fleet retrofit programme, bringing an upgraded cabin product and greater choice to Irish travellers. The airline has also incorporated Irish suppliers and brands into its onboard offering, including carpets and upholstery from Dublin-based Botany Weaving, alongside Keogh’s Crisps, Baileys and Voya.
Emirates is now taking its Premium Economy proposition further with a new electrically powered seat featuring a full-height adjustable privacy screen between passengers, claimed to be the first such feature in a Premium Economy cabin worldwide.
The new premium seat will debut on newly delivered Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The 28-seat Premium Economy cabin is arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration, with the electric divider giving passengers greater control over personal space. The new seat builds on Emirates’ award-winning Premium Economy experience, where every element has been carefully designed to deliver an elevated journey from take-off to landing.
Since launching Premium Economy in 2022, Emirates has continued to expand the cabin across its growing fleet, with the product now available across all markets currently served with A350 aircraft. The EK163/4 service is to be operated by Airbus A350 up to 31 October 2026.
