United Airlines will introduce its Airbus A321XLR “Born to Explore” aircraft on international routes from Washington Dulles to Amsterdam and Dublin from 1–2 December, marking the aircraft’s entry into international service. The Dublin launch forms part of United’s largest-ever international network expansion. The carrier is adding 10 new international cities and three new routes across Europe and Asia in Summer 2027.

The 150-seat A321XLR features 20 Polaris business-class seats, 12 Premium Plus, 34 Economy Plus and 84 Economy seats.
The onboard experience across all cabins features 4K OLED seatback screens and Bluetooth connectivity. Economy passengers will have access to a snack bar. Economy Plus customers benefit from additional elbow room and shared-table access across an open middle seat. MileagePlus members will also have access to complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi.
United’s daily UAL228 departs Washington Dulles at 2215, arriving in Dublin at 1050 the following morning. UAL229 departs Dublin at 1215, arriving in Washington Dulles at 1525. The service will be temporarily suspended from 4 January to 18 February 2027.
