ITA Airways has transferred three Airbus A220-100 aircraft from the Irish to Italian aircraft register, with the re-registrations completed during April as the carrier continues aligning fleet assets under its domestic registry.
All three aircraft are named after Italian sporting personalities. EI-MVC (msn 50076), named “Andrea Bargnani”, now operates as I-BDVC; EI-MVE (msn 50080) “Dario Hubner” has become I-ADVE; while EI-MVF (msn 50082) “Stefania Belmondo” is now registered as I-ADVF.
EI-MVC (msn 50076) was delivered in July 2024 as I-ADVC and re-registered as EI-MVC in December same year.
ITA Airways has positioned the Airbus A220 family as a core component of its narrowbody fleet renewal strategy, replacing legacy aircraft with lower-emission and more fuel-efficient aircraft across domestic and European short-haul operations. The A220-100 fleet is deployed primarily on thinner domestic and European sectors.
