United Airlines Introduces Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner on Dublin-New York/Newark Route - IrishAero - Irish Aviation Research Institute

United Airlines has introduced the latest Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft on its service between Dublin and its New York/Newark hub, with effect from 23rd May.

The first service UAL23/22 was operated by N16009 Boeing 787-10 MSN 40938. The aircraft first flight on 17th April and delivered on 27th April Charleston to Washington – Dulles International (KIAD).

Dublin is one six routes from United Airlines Newark hub to receive 787-10 service joining Barcelona, Brussels, Frankfurt , Paris CDG and Tel Aviv.

Over the last 20 years United Airlines has operated Boeing 757-200(ER), Boeing 767-200(ER), Boeing 767-300(ER), Boeing 767-40(ER), Boeing 777-200(ER), Boeing 777-300(ER) on the Dublin-New York/Newark route.

Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison said, “United Airlines has been operating at Dublin Airport for almost 21 years and I want to acknowledge its commitment to Dublin and New York/Newark during that time.  We are delighted to welcome the airline’s introduction of the 787-10 Dreamliner on its Dublin to New York/Newark service which is further testament of United’s commitment to the route and its customers.”

Martina Coogan, United’s Country Manager Sales Ireland said “We are delighted to introduce the 787-10 Dreamliner to our nonstop Dublin-New York/Newark service and are confident that our customers in Ireland will notice a real difference when they step on board this state-of-the-art aircraft, which features both our new United Polaris business class and United Premium Plus seats. Introducing this new aircraft on our Dublin-New York/Newark service underpins our commitment to the Irish market.”

United was the first North American airline to take delivery of the 787-10 and is the first airline in the world to have the entire family of Boeing’s 787-8, 787-9 and 787-10 Dreamliners in its fleet. The airline has 14 Boeing 787-10 aircraft on order and has taken delivery of 9 aircraft to date.

The Boeing 787-10 features 44 United Polaris business class seats, 21 United Premium Plus seats, 54 Economy Plus seats and 199 standard Economy seats. The aircraft is powered by two General Electric GENX-1B76 engines.
