Shannon Airport has recorded an 8% increase in passenger figures during the first six months of 2024, when compared to the same period last year.

The airport, boosted by the resumption of Delta’s daily service to New York-JFK and increased frequencies to nine of its European and UK destinations during the summer season, recorded 974,012 passengers from January to June of this year.

The Shannon Airport Group CEO Mary Considine, said “We have had a busy first half of 2024 at Shannon Airport and we are pleased to see our passenger numbers increasing when compared to the same period last year. We are on track to reach the 2 million passengers mark by the end of the year and as we build towards this, we remain committed to delivering a world-class experience for our customers, who are travelling from every corner of the country to fly Shannon.”

Shannon Airport recently retained its position as Ireland’s best airport brand according to the RED C Brand Reaction Index 2024 (BRI), signifying the continued popularity of Shannon’s convenient, uncongested and efficient airport operation with passengers.
