SAS Airlines has introduced the Boeing 717-200 on the Copenhagen to Dublin route with effect from Monday 1st April operating the morning SAS537/8 service, becoming the first schedule route for the aircraft type into Dublin Airport.  The inaugural service was operated by OH-BLP Boeing 717-23S c/n 55064 arriving at 1023 and departing 1129 in Star Alliance Colors.

The Boeing 717s are operated by SAS Airlines 100% owned Finnish subsidiary Blue1 whom previously served the Dublin market operating a service from Helsinki for two years in Summer 2006 and  2007 using MD90s.

SAS Airlines announced 17th October from 1st November Blue1 was converted to a production company within the SAS Airlines group, with the primary task of delivering operational flight services to meet SAS’s network requirements adopting SAS Airlines branding and flight prefix “SK”.

Blue1 operates fleet of 9 Boeing 717-200s in a two-class 115 seat configuration.
