Belfast International Airport achieved its busiest year ever, welcoming a record-breaking 6.757 million passengers. This milestone surpasses the previous record of 6.286 million passengers set in 2018 and represents an 13% growth from 2023.

The growth was fuelled due to two additional based aircraft from easyJet and Jet2.com and Jet2holidays alongside Ryanair’s largest-ever programme, as well as TUI and Tour Operators programmes, serving over 70+ destinations.

In August its new Security Hall, equipped with Gen 3 X-ray technology, enhancing efficiency and streamlining passenger journeys as part £100 million five-year investment plan that will increase the airport’s operational efficiency, to transform the passenger experience and environmental performance.

The airport reached Level 3 ‘Optimisation’ in the Airport Carbon Accreditation scheme, showcasing its commitment to sustainability. Additionally, the 26 MWp solar farm project is on his way with SunMind set to generate 22.4 GWh of electricity annually, significantly reducing CO2 emissions.
