The Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) and Ryanair, officially opened its new base in Tangier.

The announcement represents Ryanair’s fourth base in Morocco, investing $200 million in two Boeing 737-800 aircraft , operating 25 routes including 13 new routes connecting Tangier with 8 new European cities.

This base opening will increase Tangier S24 capacity by +70% and is an important part of the record Summer 2024 schedule across our 12 Moroccan airports, delivering over 5 million passengers (+31% growth),  as part of Ryanair’s $1.4 billion investment delivering economic growth across 12 cities including Rabat, Marrakesh, Fez, Agadir, Tetouan, Essaouira, and Nador operating 170 routes.

Morocco Minister of Tourism, Ms. Fatim-Zahra Ammor said “The opening of Ryanair’s new base in Tangier marks a significant milestone in our tourism and economic development strategy. This expansion strengthens the position of Tangier and the entire northern region as a choice destination, facilitating the arrivals of both national and international tourists. Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson said “We are delighted to officially launch our new base at Tangier, which represents a $200 million investment and our fourth Moroccan base. This latest base opening is part of our record S24 schedule which will see Ryanair operate over 170 routes across the Kingdom, boosting tourism and connectivity.
