Luxair's new Boeing 737-8 MAX Irish connection - IrishAero - Irish Aviation Research Institute
Luxair Boeing 737-8 22 July 2023

Luxair 2nd July welcomed the first Boeing 737-8 MAX Aircraft into its fleet at its Luxembourg (LUX) base. The aircraft registered LX-LBL msn 64607 was formely operated by Air Italy on Irish aircraft registry as EI-GGL. The aircraft operated first commerical service (LGL741/2) to Lanzarote 7th July.

Luxair stated “With a range of 3.100 nautical miles (5.740 km), the Boeing 737-8 will already in 2023 extent Luxair’s current operating range. The aircraft will hence be used for longer flights such as the ones operated currently to Dubai, Cap Verde and Senegal but will also serve Luxair’s remaining network. With these new aircraft Luxair can even expand its destination portfolio.”
