Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland (LTAI) acquires 28 CFM56-3 Engines to support customers - IrishAero - Irish Aviation Research Institute

In March 2012 Lufthansa Technik Group company acquired 14 Boeing 737-300/500s that where phased out by parent company Lufthansa and Lufthansa Technik (LHT) was the successful bidder for the aircraft following tender on the open market, the aircraft will be dismantled by Lufthansa Technik Component Services in Tulsa,Oklahoma.

The 28 CFM56-3B-1 and CFM56-3C-1 Engines from these aircraft have been acquired by Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland (LTAI) in Dublin. Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland MD Wolfgang Moerig said “The engines will be used to dramatically lower the cost of engine operation and maintenance operation for existing and new CFM56-3 Engines.”

LTAI is celebrating the first anniversary of its highly successful CFM56-3 Engine Trading and Material Recovery business, and is actively selling, leasing and exchanging engines and engine modules.
