Aergo Capital acquires two ATR72-600 aircraft from Transportation Partners
Aergo Capital has announced that it has purchased two ATR72-600 passenger aircraft from Transportation Partners. The aircraft operated from Subang Airport, by Malindo Airways is part of the Lion Air Group. Malindo, the fastest growing airline in the Lion Air Group, will maximize KLIA airport to turbo-charge the Lion Air Group’s regional expansion in 2016. DVB Bank SE provided debt finance for the transaction.
AWAS announces appointment of David N. Siegel as Chief Executive Officer
AWAS announced that it has appointed David N. Siegel as Chief Executive Officer. He will join AWAS in April 2016 and will be based in its Dublin HQ. Mr. Siegel brings some 32 years of relevant experience to AWAS, including most recently as Chief Executive Officer at Frontier Airlines Inc. Prior to Frontier, Mr. Siegel held a number of senior positions within the global aviation industry including CEO of XOJET and US Airways, and senior roles in Continental Airlines and Northwest Airlines. Mr. Siegel has also held senior positions in other sectors, including car rental and catering / food service.
AWAS expands relationship with customer Boliviana de Aviacion
AWAS announced that they have leased an additional 767-300ER wide-body passenger aircraft to current customer Boliviana de Aviacion (BOA) to support their growing international service. AWAS also delivered a 737-700 narrow-body passenger aircraft on lease to BOA, helping the airline with their fleet modernisation plan. Both these aircraft come from AWAS’ existing fleet. This is AWAS’ fourth 767-300ER delivery to BOA and the airline’s first 767-300ER fitted with winglets for added payload-range capability and fuel burn improvement.
Waypoint Leasing Surpasses $1.5 Billion in Helicopter Assets
Waypoint Leasing (Ireland) Limited the largest independent global helicopter leasing company, announced at Helicopter Association International’s Heli-Expo that the company has officially surpassed $1.5 billion in total helicopter assets. Waypoint’s fleet, comprised of a diverse mix of assets ranging from light-twin to heavy helicopters, now includes more than 120 aircraft. Additionally, Waypoint has firm and option orders with aircraft manufacturers for more than 125 helicopters valued at more than $1.7 billion, to be delivered over the next five years.
