Arena Aviation Capital closes B777-200ER deal


On 29 March JP Lease Products & Services Co., Ltd. successfully closed the acquisition of two Boeing B777-200ER aircraft from AerCap Ireland Limited on lease to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. The deal was arranged, structured and will be managed by Arena Aviation Capital B.V., which also arranged and structured the debt financing provided by Deutsche Bank.

Avolon delivers its first Airbus A320neo aircraft

Avolon, the international aircraft leasing company, announces the delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft. The aircraft is the first of a number of A320neo sale and leasebacks contracted with IndiGo and brings the number of aircraft leased by Avolon to IndiGo to 21. Avolon’s future commitment to new technology aircraft includes a further 99 Airbus A320neo family aircraft,20 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, 12 Boeing 787-9 aircraft and 15 Airbus A330neo aircraft for which Avolon is a launch customer. At the end of March 2016, Avolon had a total fleet of 402 aircraft including 223 owned and managed aircraft; and 179 aircraft on order.


IBA says aircraft leasing shows few signs of slowing

Aircraft leasing is showing little signs of slowing in the short term, according to analysts at the International Bureau of Aviation (IBA), which has just published a review of 2015. Phil Seymour, chief executive of the bureau, which recently opened a Dublin office, states in the review’s introduction that “operating leasing as a financial solution shows little sign of slowing in the short term”. However, Mr Seymour suggests that with question marks over the ability of twin-aisle craft – normally used for long haul services – to keep their value, lessors themselves are likely to focus on the less risky, single-aisle craft.

Previously Unidentified Customer Trident Jet Orders Four More Bombardier CRJ900 Aircraft Increasing Firm Orders CityJet to operate all 12 aircraft

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft disclosed that Trident Jet (Jersey) Limited, a sister company of Falko Regional Aircraft Limited, is the previously unidentified customer that signed the firm purchase agreement for eight CRJ900 aircraft and six options announced in October 2015. The aircraft are assigned to and operated by CityJet on a wet lease basis – which means it provides aircraft and crews — on behalf of SAS (Scandinavian Airlines).  Additionally, Bombardier announced today that Trident Jet (Jersey) Limited has exercised four of its options also to be operated by CityJet.
