The first Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) Airbus A321neo visit to Dublin Airport took place on Friday 18th December 2020 with HB-JPA Airbus 271NX MSN 9417 , named “Stoos” after the name of the village in the Swiss canton of Schwyz.  On 21st December HB-JDB Airbus A320-271N MSN 9379 operated to Dublin.

HB-JPA was delivered from from Airbus’ Hamburg Finkenwerder assembly plant to SWISS’ Zurich hub on 18th September 2020 and HB-JDB on the 1st July 2020.

Executive Vice President Lufthansa Group Fleet Management Nico Buchholz said “Our decision to go with the cleanest, the most reliable and the most efficient belongs to the image of Switzerland, thus the A320neo was a natural fit with our modernization strategy.” 

The carrier has taken delivery of two Airbus A320neo and one Airbus A321neo from an order of 25 A320neo Family aircraft which will gradually renew and replace existing fleet of A320 Family aircraft. The A320neo Family incorporates the very latest technologies including new-generation PW1133G engines, large Sharklet wing-tip devices and cabin efficiency enablers, which together deliver 20% fuel savings and a reduction of 3,600 tonnes of CO2 per aircraft per year.
