Italian carrier ITA Airways took delivery of the first Irish registered Airbus A330-900(neo) at delivery ceremony in Toulouse. The A330neo is the latest-generation aircraft type from Airbus to join the ITA Airways’ fleet, on lease from Air Lease Corporation (ALC).
EI-HJN Airbus A330-941 msn 2035 ITA Airways named ‘Gelindo Bordin’ was delivered Toulouse to Rome Fiumicino hub on Friday 27 May, and will operate new long-haul routes to Washington Dulles (2 June) and San Francisco (1 July) and Rio de Janeiro (29 October).
The A330neo in three class configuration is fitted with 30 business class reclining Thompson Vantage XL seats, by Northern Ireland based Thompson Aero Seating.
ITA Airways operates all Airbus aircraft family fleet of 68 aircraft (4 A220s, 50 A320 Family, 8 A330-200s and 6 A350-900s), by selecting A330neos, ITA Airways is further consolidating its strategy of being an all Airbus operator and leveraging new levels of efficiency and flexibility.
