This afternoon Lufthansa’s Munich to Dublin flight was operated by D-AKNG Airbus A319-112 c/n 654 DLH2515/4 (ATC Callsign DLH5NL/4AH), this aircraft has an interesting history within the Lufthansa Group with various operators.

The aircraft was delivered on 28th February 1997 to Eurowings on 28th February 1997 and later transferred to Lufthansa’s subsidiary low fare brand Germanwings from 25th October 2002 to 20th January 2009.

On 27th January 2009 the aircraft was transferred to Lufthansa’s Italian subsidiary Lufthansa Italia until 29th October 2011 when the subsidiary was closed down, registration I-LHKB was allocated but not taken up. The aircraft was withdrawn from use from 29th October 2011 until 25th May 2012 when it re-entered service with Lufthansa.

The aircraft was a regular visitor to Dublin Airport under its previous Germanwings guise.
