Dublin aircraft lessor AWAS announced it has delivered two Boeing 737-800s from its new aircraft order book to Norwegian Air Shuttle becoming the 5th and 6th new Boeing 737-800s placed with Norwegian enabling the airline to optimize its fleet and growth plan.
AWAS Chief Commercial Officer Marlin Dailey said “Norwegian has grown with their commitment to a low cost model, customer-centric service and fleet of modern, fuel efficient aircraft. AWAS is proud to continue to support their expansion as well as grow our long-term relationship. “
AWAS Senior Vice President Sales Jennifer Moulton said “AWAS is pleased to be able to provide Norwegian with these two 737-800 aircraft , both outfitted with the Boeing Sky Interior, to assist them in expanding their route network throughout Europe.”
Norwegian CEO Bjørn Kjos said “We would like to thank AWAS which has been a valuable partner to us in our fleet modernization plan. With our efficient 737-800 fleet we can continue to enhance profitable performance across our network, streamline operations, as well as reduce per seat mile costs.”
According to Planespotters.net LN-NIE Boeing 737-8JP(WL) c/n 39435 was delivered Boeing Field-Oslo on 4th February and LN-NIF Boeing 737-8JP (WL) c/n 39434 Norwegian Delivered Boeing Field-on 7th February.
Norwegian Air Shuttle operates twice weekly from Dublin to Copenhagen & Oslo Gardermoen and launches a new route to Helsinki twice weekly from 14th April using a mix of Boeing 737-300 and 737-800 aircraft.
