Aurigny announced it has accelerated the launch of its new route from Guernsey to Dublin route from 29th March to 16th March to coincide with the four day St Patrick’s Day Festival 2022. The route will on Tuesdays and Thursdays initially and to meet market demand the carrier is adding a third weekly frequency on Saturdays from 31st March using 72 seat ATR72-600 aircraft.

Aurigny CEO Nico Bezuidenhout said “The purpose is to increase overall air connectivity for Guernsey. The partnership approach will complement Aurigny’s own route initiatives, which includes the addition of the Birmingham and Exeter routes in 2021 and Dublin in 2022.  We are aiming to strike the appropriate balance between the high-frequency London-focused schedule needs of Guernsey’s Finance Sector, the medical travel needs of Islanders and the desire for varied travel destinations of outbound leisure travellers.”

Aurigny operates a fleet of three Dornier 228’s, four ATR72-600 aircraft and one Embraer ERJ190 on its domestic, inter-island services and European route network. This year the carrier will fully introduce the ClearVision navigational aid technology on its ATR fleet during 2022, aiming to reduce weather-related delays caused by poor visibility, once pilots have built up sufficient training hours with the system.
