Cork Airport based Atlantic Flight Training Academy (AFTA) announced on Linkedin its new Boeing 737-8200 MAX simulator has been officially approved by the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA).

The simulator was designed and built by Netherland based MPS. The new device sits next to the Boeing 737-800W Flight Training Device (FTD) previously delivered by MPS. The Flight Training Device (FTD) has been qualified by the IAA and is ready to be operationalized in AFTA’s extensive training program including Ryanair’s Mentored Program.

MPS Chief Commercial Officer Erik Jennes, said “MPS is excited that AFTA has ordered an additional simulator from MPS reaffirming our long-standing relationship. This will be an important extension of AFTA’s training capability and capacity. We are proud to be a partner in this endeavour.”

The Boeing 737-8200 is Ryanair’s flagship fourth generation aircraft and is a game changer in terms of comfort, technological improvements and sustainability due to its super efficient CFM LEAP-1B engines.
